Position Overview

The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) is a key executive responsible for leading and managing the company’s technology strategy, engineering execution, and information security posture. The CTO will drive innovation, ensure high-performance delivery of products and platforms (including VoIP, cloud telephony, CRM integrations, analytics, and unified communication systems), and uphold compliance with ISO 27001 standards. The CTO oversees technical teams, aligns tech goals with business objectives, ensures robust security and quality, and builds scalable technology solutions to support sustained growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Technology Leadership

  • Lead the definition and execution of the company’s technology strategy in line with business goals.
  • Drive architectural vision, scalability, and product/platform road maps for real-time communication platforms (e.g., virtual numbers, VoIP systems).
  • Promote innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks.

2. Engineering Execution & Delivery

  • Oversee engineering teams through planning, execution, timely delivery, and quality assurance of software and infrastructure.
  • Establish technical standards, best practices, and coding guidelines to ensure high performance, stability, and maintainability..
  • Mentor and develop senior engineers, tech leads, and future engineering managers.

3.Information Security & ISO 27001 Compliance

  • Own responsibility for ISO 27001 compliance, ensuring required controls, risk assessments, policies, and documentation are implemented, monitored, and improved.
  • Maintain, review, and strengthen the Information Security Management System (ISMS), including incident response, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate internal and external ISO 27001 audits and corrective actions, ensuring timely remediation.

4. Risk & Operational Management

  • Identify technical risks—security, performance, scalability—and lead mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure secure development life cycles, vulnerability assessments, and proactive security measures.
  • Oversee systems reliability, up time, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, sales, customer support, and business stakeholders to align technology with customer needs and commercial objectives.
  • Support sales and partnerships by providing technical insights, performing technical due diligence, or presenting architecture.
  • Champion user-centered engineering practices, supporting internal teams (e.g., analytics, CRM, integrations).

6.Budget & Vendor Management

  • Manage technology budgets, infrastructure costs, team resource planning, and vendor relationships.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with third-party cloud, security, and tooling vendors.

Job Specification (Qualifications & Skills)

1. Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or technology leadership roles.
  • 5+ years in senior leadership (Director/Head of Engineering/CTO) with a proven track record of scaling teams and systems.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, SaaS, telephony/VoIP systems, or real-time communication platforms is preferred.

2. Technical Skills

  • Strong background in modern tech stacks, distributed systems, APIs, DevOps, and micro services.
  • Experience in adopting secure coding practices and cloud security architectures.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, or similar security standards.

3. Leadership & Management Skills

  • Proven ability to lead large engineering teams and foster collaboration.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making under ambiguity.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and executive communication skills.

Company Expectations Over Time

First 3 Months

  • Understand the current technology landscape, product codebases, infrastructure, and team capabilities.
  • Perform a comprehensive audit of security, ISMS readiness, and existing ISO 27001 gaps.
  • Build trust with the tech team and define a Technology Roadmap aligned with business priorities.
  • Establish regular reporting and communication channels with CEO/Leadership. 3–9 Months
  • Drive critical improvements in product stability, security controls, and engineering workflows.
  • Finalize and implement corrective actions for ISO 27001 compliance and prepare for audit cycles.
  • Set up metrics/KPIs for engineering performance, delivery quality, and security posture.
  • Introduce scalable processes for deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, and incident response. 9–18 Months
  • Lead major product/platform enhancements or new product lines.
  • Elevate the engineering culture to embrace security by design, automation, and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in up time, delivery velocity, and security incident reduction.
  • Support business growth through technical leadership in partnerships, scaling, and cross-functional alignment.18+ Months
  • Continuously mature the tech organisation, establish tech leadership pipelines, and extend platform capabilities for global scale.
  • Position the company as a trusted, secure technology provider for enterprise customers.
  • Ensure ongoing ISO 27001 certification renewals and continued improvement cycles.
  • Contribute to strategic business planning with tech foresight and innovation insights.
