Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and DigitalOcean using Terraform and Helm
    Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions for Python and Node.js microservices
    Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters, including service discovery, resource optimization, and deployment strategies such as blue-green, canary, and rolling updates
    Configure and maintain Cloudflare services including DNS, WAF.
    Implement and manage HashiCorp Vault for centralized secrets management with CI/CD integration
    Administer PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, both in-cluster and managed services, ensuring performance and reliability
    Build comprehensive observability stacks using Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, and Datadog for monitoring, logging, and alerting
    Manage API gateways and ingress controllers for traffic routing, rate limiting, and authentication
    Implement secure VPN-based access controls for production environments
    Configure and maintain artifact repositories and package registries (PyPI, npm, container registries)
    Design and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies for databases and Git repositories using DigitalOcean Spaces
    Implement event-driven infrastructure with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Redis Pub/Sub
    Enforce security best practices including zero-trust networking, least-privilege access, and production hardening
    Lead incident response efforts, conduct post-mortems, and implement preventive measures
    Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and high availability
    Mentor junior engineers and establish DevOps standards and documentation

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles
    Deep expertise in Kubernetes administration including deployments, networking, storage, RBAC, namespaces, and resource quotas
    Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools: Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize
    Hands-on experience with DigitalOcean and AWS cloud platforms
    Strong knowledge of Cloudflare configuration (DNS, WAF, Zero Trust)
    Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management and Kubernetes secrets integration
    Solid database administration skills with PostgreSQL and MongoDB
    Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions, including permissions and access control
    Strong experience with observability tools: Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Datadog, and distributed tracing (Jaeger, Zipkin, OpenTelemetry)
    Expertise in Docker containerization and multi-stage builds for optimized microservice images
    Strong understanding of networking: load balancing, DNS, SSL/TLS, service mesh, and API gateway patterns
    Knowledge of distributed systems concepts: service discovery, circuit breakers, retries, timeouts, and eventual consistency
    Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning and execution
    Familiarity with cloud-native security practices and production hardening
    Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting; Go experience is a plus
    Experience working in SaaS or high-traffic production environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux
    Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, or Consul Connect)
    Experience with event streaming platforms (Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ)
    Knowledge of monorepo tooling (Nx, Turborepo, or Lerna) for managing multiple microservices
    Understanding of Python build tools and packaging (pip, poetry, setuptools, wheel, tox)
    Experience with Node.js ecosystem including npm/yarn/pnpm and build optimization
    Familiarity with artifact management tools (Artifactory or cloud-native registries)
    Experience with chaos engineering tools (Chaos Monkey, Litmus, Gremlin)
    Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies
    Understanding of domain-driven design and microservices decomposition
    Proven track record supporting distributed microservices at scale
